We’ve tried to make this as simple and stress-free as possible. In addition to the above, your retreat registration includes your lodging, meals, drinks, snacks, planned activities, and group outing costs. You’ll only need to cover your travel to and from the retreat, one meal out together, and any personal spending money you’d like for shopping or extras.
Together, we’ll step away from the noise and make space for
rest, reflection, connection, and encouragement.
You'll be invited to see your role with renewed hope.
Not because the road is easy. But because...
you're not walking it alone.

Making room for both realities...
This retreat is not about pretending motherhood is easy or denying the hard parts. It is about making room for both realities:
You love your child deeply...And this road can be exhausting.
You believe your child was created with purpose...
And you may still feel overwhelmed by the needs and meltdowns.
You want to trust you're not alone.
And you need to be reminded that God still sees you in it.
Because my own story of parenting a uniquely wired child involves my faith, this retreat will include encouragement, Scripture-based reflection, and space for prayer.
At the same time, this is a welcoming space for any mom who is seeking encouragement, support, and hope for the road she is walking.
Whether your faith feels steady, stretched, quiet, or uncertain, you are welcome.
I look forward to spending time together that will be both refocusing and refreshing.
Why this retreat?
It Is Well... Finding Your Calm in the Chaos
Mothering an emotionally intense, neurodivergent, or uniquely wired child can be beautiful, sacred, exhausting, and lonely all at the same time.
You may spend so much time helping your child regulate, explaining their needs, advocating for support, preparing for transitions, managing meltdowns, and trying to hold your family together that your own heart gets pushed to the side.
This retreat is a pause.
A place to step away from the constant problem-solving and remember that you are more than the manager of hard moments.
You are a mom with a heart that needs care too.
Through encouragement, meaningful connection, honest reflection, and practical support, you’ll be reminded that you matter, you are not alone, and God will meet you in the middle of the chaos.
Even in the midst of your child's big emotions or challenging behaviors, you can know...
It is well in your soul.

This Retreat Is For the Mom Who...
Wants encouragement that speaks to both her practical parenting struggles and her heart
Needs space to rest, reflect, breathe, and be reminded that she is not failing
Feels exhausted from managing meltdowns, emotional intensity, or challenging behaviors
Desires to connect with other moms who understand the unique road she is walking
Receptive to spiritual encouragement or stories, prayer, reflection, and honest conversation
Loves her child deeply and wants to be refreshed for all that motherhood requires
This is a place to exhale.
A place to be understood, breathe deeply, and remember that you are not failing just because this road feels hard.
A place to be encouraged, strengthened, and cared for.
This Retreat Is Not...
It is not about quick fixes, perfect parenting, or pretending the hard parts of parenting an emotionally intense or uniquely wired child are not hard.
It is not a place where you have to explain every behavior, defend every decision, or convince anyone that you really are doing the best you can.
It is not one more space where you need to perform, prove, manage, or hold everything together.

Your Retreat Host and Parenting Coach
Hi! I'm Jami Kirkbride...
Podcast Host of Calm Connection Parenting, Professional Counselor turned Parenting Coach, Creator of the Calm Connection Parenting Program, and Founder of Parenting With Personality. As a speaker, author, wife, and ...my favorite role as mom to seven blessings, I have learned a lot about the many challenges parents face.
The journey we've walked with our own child through mental health issues has given me a front row seat to the consistent struggles, intense challenges, and lack of resources that so many families face. It truly affects the whole family, not just a child.
This fueled my passion to create the coaching program, podcast, summits, trainings, support groups, and now the retreats that can serve as education, inspiration, and support for those walking a similar journey with a child who is emotionally intense, neurodivergent, or uniquely wired.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some commonly asked questions about the retreat. If you have other questions, please feel free to message me or call 307-631-3991.
What airport is nearest the retreat location?
The closest airport would be Denver International Airport (DIA). There are many flights in and out of there. Additionally, you can take the Groome transport van back to Loveland. This is usually a $29 ticket and has a drop spot at a small local airport near the retreat home where we will pick you up. You will just make your arrangements to get to the drop off point and communicate with us to know when to pick you up there.
Or if you prefer, there is a car rental place right at DIA that shuttles you a short distance to the lot where you pick up your car. An Uber or Lyft would likely cost a good bit more than the shuttle, as it is about 45 minutes from DIA to Loveland.
What if my child doesn't have a diagnosis?
You are welcome here.
Your child does not need an official diagnosis for you to attend this retreat. Some children have a diagnosis such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, DMDD, autism, sensory processing differences, or other neurodevelopmental or mental health concerns. Others may simply be emotionally intense, highly sensitive, strong-willed, easily overwhelmed, or harder to parent in traditional ways.
If motherhood has felt heavier, more complex, or more misunderstood than you expected, this retreat was created with you in mind. I think you would find this group of moms to be pretty understanding and supportive.
What is included in my registration costs?
We wanted to plan this retreat to be as all-inclusive as possible. So other than your transportation, we are covering all the other essential costs such as food and lodging. There will be three meals, drinks, and snacks provided each day. (Except for one meal, we are eating out at your choice of 3 various restaurants.)
Otherwise, your registration covers lodging, food, snacks, drinks, retreat journal, gifts, activities, outings, project materials, pre- and post-retreat follow-up calls, personality assessments, coaching sessions, and some yummy desserts too!
Is this counseling/therapy?
No, the focus of the work I do is clearly focused on education, support, and skill building. This retreat is encouraging, educational, reflective, and supportive, but it is not therapy and does not replace mental health treatment. You will receive encouragement, insight, practical tools, and connection in a group retreat and coaching setting.
Is this retreat only for Christian parents?
No. This retreat will include encouragement, Scripture-based reflection, and space for prayer because my own story of mothering a uniquely wired child connects with my faith.
At the same time, this is a welcoming space for any mom seeking encouragement, support, and hope for the road she is walking. Whether your faith feels steady, stretched, quiet, or uncertain, you are welcome here.
How are you handling room assignments and dietary restrictions?
We want this experience to be as enjoyable as possible. We'll be sending out a short questionnaire once people have registered so they can make specific necessary requests. And we will try to accommodate whatever needs we are able.
We secured a retreat location that can house more people than we anticipate, however to keep costs low, we anticipate that we may still need to share rooms. We will do our best to match sleeping needs as well (early riser, light sleeper, sound machine use, etc.) to make things work as smoothly as possible.
When is arrival and departure?
Check-in isn't allowed until Thursday (April 27) at 4:00 pm MST. So as close to that time as possible would be ideal. However, if your flight arrives later, the retreat home is near the Groome drop off point, and we will just pick you up there when you arrive.
Since people are just arriving Thursday evening, we are planning three full days of retreat activities to start the next morning (Friday-Sunday). We have scheduled a variety of special outings, group interaction, fun activities, time to relax, and coaching time from 9:00 am -9:00 pm all three days.
Check-out is 10:00 am MST on Monday morning. So plan your return flight for Monday. The Groome shuttle can also take you to DIA to catch your flight. You can book that on their website.
Is parking available at the retreat location?
Yes, we have 4-5 parking spots allowed for our stay. So we will be able to accommodate people who are driving. The exact address of our retreat location will be shared privately after you register and receive your retreat details and preparation packet.
Will there be time to rest or relax?
Yes. This retreat is intentionally designed with space to breathe, reflect, connect, and rest. You will not be rushed from one session to the next all day long. The goal is not to overload you, but to help you exhale and leave feeling encouraged, steadier, and supported.
What if I am nervous to come by myself?
You will not be the only one.
Many moms will arrive not knowing anyone, and this retreat is intentionally designed to feel warm, welcoming, and emotionally safe from the moment you walk in. Our pre-summit coaching call might help you feel a little less nervous about this, allowing you some time to chat with someone prior should you choose.
There will be gentle ways to connect, but no pressure to share more than you want to. You can participate at your own comfort level, take quiet moments when you need them, and ease into the weekend in a way that feels right for you.
My hope is that you leave feeling like you found a room full of moms who may not know your exact story, but truly understand the kind of road you are walking. (And of course, if you know a mom walking a similar journey, you can invite them to register and attend the retreat too!)

This has been more than worth it!
Don't stay stuck! Jump in,
it will change your life!
This program is a real eye opener! It’s so refreshing to realize that we are not alone! Connecting with other parents who share some of the same experiences we have has been such a relief. I'm not crazy! My favorite part of the course is being able to be honest and real about my struggles. Jami has really been insightful and helped me gain some great perspectives on my approach to my kids. This has been more than worth it! Don’t stay stuck! Jump in, it will change your life!

"The way I see my child is totally different. I can’t believe the difference...a total 180 degree turnaround! I have a totally new relationship with him!"
This program was life changing. I came in feeling overwhelmed, like I was failing. It was so emotional to finally have someone who validated without judgment that you are doing the best you can, but someone who gives you tools to be a better parent. Now we feel confident, at peace, more secure in how we’re doing with ALL of our kids, and Jason and I are getting along better. Working with Jami equipped us to advocate with doctors, teachers, and family. We knew it was a big investment, but it was absolutely worth it... every penny. I only wish I’d done it sooner!

This has been a godsend! This program makes a huge difference!
I really needed all it has to offer! It helps you to become a better parent and connect more with your kids. This has been a godsend. Jami is wonderful at answering questions and helping solve problems. She is in tune with what parents really need and helps you apply what you are learning. I feel more capable now than I did before, and I am able to stay calm better. This program makes a huge difference. I’ve been more connection-focused, and I see trust building between my kids and myself.
